This is an operational version of a Regular Spiking [RS] Neuron. You may download the neuron to your Windows computer and experiment with the simulation of this single neuron. Download this neruon here (32 or 64 bit Windows)
To Use
- Start the neuron and slide the input current to around 56 pico Amps. The neuron should start to fire
- Pull in the left and right bars using the slider on the bottom. Notice that the neuron only fires when current is applied shown by the red line.
- Find the minimum pulse width that will cause the neuron to fire. Should be about 200 mSeconds
- Find the minimum current. Should be about 58 pA
- Notice the recovery period (about 200 mSec
- Notice the maximum depolarization to 25 mV or more
- Notice the hyper polarization down to -60 mV
- Open the Status slide out and use the mouse
